About Camp Cavaignac
Since 1999, Camp Cavaignac's mission has been to provide young children, ages seven to thirteen, with wholesome, artistic and dynamic experiences. With a wide variety of activities ranging from the very active to the more creative and calm, we hope to give young campers a lifetime memory. The camp encourages each camper to involve oneself in new experiences in order to strengthen self confidence and character. But also, we understand the importance of leaving time for children to explore on their own, developing themselves as individuals. At Camp Cavaignac, children can still be children.
With a beautiful French style farmhouse and fifty bucolic acres, Camp Cavaignac accommodates 35 campers. Dormitory style, overnight campers sleep in their own sleeping bags on bunk beds, cots , or for the lucky few, carpeted floor! Three hearty and delicious meals (child approved!) will be served throughout the day.
Located 30 minutes outside of Sacramento in the north delta town of Ryde, the fifty acre facility consists of expansive lawns, animal pastures, stable and riding arena, a large swimming pond complete with beach, island, boats and floating dock, the famous "ropeswing" and lots of animals! The nearby Sacramento River provides tons of boating fun and back country roads are perfect for long bike rides and picnics, while a huge patio is a great
stage for dancing and musical ensembles.
